This easy, healthy and delicious treat has quickly made it’s way to my Top Ten list! And the best part of it? It is dairy free and only contains two ingredients! Yes, you heard me – TWO ingredients!
The first thing that I did was slice up 3 bananas and place them in a ziplock baggie and put in the freezer for a minimum of 3 hours. You can also keep your bananas in the freezer for days and have them ready at a moments notice! I often slice up our bananas as soon as we get them home from the grocery store, but this is a perfect way to use those browning bananas that you don’t want to toss and want to find a way to use them!
When we’re ready to make our snack, I simply pull out the baggie of frozen bananas and put them into our food processor.
Depending on what type of blender or food processor you have, you might need to stop the machine a few times and scrape the sides. But within a couple of minutes, your bananas will turn into a nice, smooth, creamy mixture! At this point, you can add in 3 teaspoons of Almond Butter and mix again for another minute. If you enjoy a frozen yogurt texture, you can scoop it into a bowl and it’s ready to serve. If you prefer a harder, ice-cream texture, simply put in the freezer for an hour and then serve.
I’ve found that this is a perfect recipe to play around with and create new flavors. Maybe add some coconut in next time. Or some Cocoa Nibs. One friend said that she puts in pineapple. Whatever your taste buds are craving, have fun experimenting with the recipe and enjoy this easy and healthy snack!
